This is a great idea!

Trust me - art is everywhere.

The concept of the space elevator has been around for decades. There are some fundamental issues - only carbon nanotubes seem to have the correct physical properties and failure modes are frightening.

Still, it is very interesting stuff for back of the envelope calculations.

Just how do you estimate crowd sizes? KUED recently aired a fascinating show on the subject.

Of course the cynic would note that accurate counts are very difficult and perhaps politically impossible (esp in Flordia).

Chatting with high school and college kids convinces me that Clear Channel is another reason why record companies are doing poorly these days. (thanks for the pointer Matt)!)

Radio was once an interesting medium, but now forces like CC make it a handmaid to the music publishing industry's journey to irrelevance.

A new version of Omniweb has appeared for OS X.

I love its clean interface and have supported Omnnigroup with a purchase, but it is no longer my browser of choice ... at the moment I split my time between Chimera and Safari. With a new version of Safari due this week I may move over entirely.

The Omniweb people have a very interesting browser and it is delightful that so much development is taking place in the OS X world. They have openly talked about using a different engine, so perhaps a premium browser will emerge.
