Ashcroft's latest plans would make J Edgar Hoover happy.

Putting the K in Amerika and getting away with it so far...

And these are guys who can't make any sense of their current data streams. It would be unthinkable for them to do things like learn the language and culture of others. Control of their own citizens is so much more interesting..

Things like this make me think the terrorists have really won ... breaking down the underpinnings of a Democracy is much more significant than knocking down buildings.

Has Pixar displaced Disney as the animation champ?

To me the big issue is the story telling - great story telling is possible with most techniques and technologies. Bad story telling is also possible and, unfortunately, much more common. I have seen $10k flash movies that were far superior to Final Fantasy.

Lost America Night Photography is an amazing site. All of the photos were taken within four days of a full moon and are shot in places with no man made ambient light.

Bjarne forwarded a link to a place that makes half size Daleks. Sadly no phone booths or K-9 units appear on the page, but the real Dr Who fan probably needs at least one of these.

A full sized Dalek with a tricycle for propulsion would be the perfect product. Any entrepreneurs out there:)

It is frightening that I have the theme music running in my head at the moment...

There are fans who get rather deep into this. This would seem to be a good starting place for the historian or home builder. Be sure to check out the members daleks link.

Someone recently brought a Ti Powerbook into an Apple Store for repair ... it seems the unit had been baked in an oven at 400F for 20 minutes. When informed of the cost of a new screen the owner abandoned the unit for the store to dispose.

It seems curiosity got the better of the employees who found that the machine booted ...

But why does someone throw a laptop in the oven?

I was completely unaware of Coyle and Sharp until Joe told me about them. A bit of searching turned up a site with some strange comedy routines from the early sixties. Reality radio ... the druggist sketch is really strange...

I don't do Windows, but friends who do claim Ad-aware is necessary if you use that platform to surf the Web.

Actually they used the word necessary rather than essential. Part of the tax of using the dominant target .. er .. platform.
