Guardian: "Ryanair today threatened to sue the government for compensation unless airport security measures are returned to normal within seven days."

The 'security measures' are damaging travel and trade. There is no need for terrorists; the government will criple our society of its own accord.

OneWorld: "Twenty-one former generals and high ranking national security officials have called on United States President George W. Bush to reverse course and embrace a new area of negotiation with Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. In a letter released Thursday, the group told reporters Bush's 'hard line' policies have undermined national security and made America less safe."

And Europe must seriously consider the adverse effects of a new war with Iran.
Regnum: "Iran and Turkey have agreed to jointly finance a number of energy projects.
Turkey has also agreed on the transit of Iranian liquefied gas to Europe. The relevant mutual understanding and cooperation memorandum will be signed shortly. Vaziri Hamaneh presented to Guler a package of proposals on Iranian gas transportation to Europe. The sides agreed that Iran will satisfy 30%-50% of Europe's 90mln c.m. gas demand, reports IRNA."

Damage control seems to be de rigueur at Washington, damage, that is, done by its own policies. The only solution for the US is to stop antagonising the entire world. This is more human and, for capitalists, more cost-effective.

Yahoo: "Concerned that Hizbollah has an early advantage in rebuilding shattered south Lebanon, the Bush administration is trying to speed up aid and encouraging Arab states to step in quickly, U.S. officials said this week."

UnclaimedTerritory: "For the last four years, the Bush administration has deliberately violated multiple laws because it has adopted radical theories which vest law-breaking powers in the President. It also happens to be well on its way to obtaining the power to criminally prosecute journalists for articles they publish about the administration's conduct. And while all of that has been happening, the Washington Post Editorial Board has said virtually nothing about any of it, sitting idly by while the President vests himself with what George Will calls 'monarchical' powers that (at least) rival terrorism as a threat to our country, and while Attorney General Alberto Gonzales casually speculates about putting Jim Risen and New York Times editors (and perhaps even the Post's own Dana Priest) into a federal prison, just as his most prominent supporters have been urging.

But at long last, the Post Editorial Board has finally found something to be outraged about - the fact that the judicial opinion issued by Judge Anna Diggs Taylor yesterday isn't scholarly and 'complex' enough for the intellectual tastes of Fred Hiatt."

BusinessWeek: "Telecommunications and Internet companies accused of working with the Bush Administration's domestic eavesdropping program could be in for more legal headaches, after a federal judge ruled Thursday that the warrantless wiretaps violated the constitution."

"The N.O.M.A.D.S. (Notoriously Offensive Male Arabs Discussiing Sh*t) and The Philistines bring you quality hip-hop with a purpose and the video to their new track 'Hala'."
