Don't Have It Your Way

Apparently Burger King isn't the place to work.  As I shared with you back in March, there are lots of disgruntled Ex-Burger King employees.  Not only can you go to that website and vent, but you can also seek help from BK Amber at The BK Therapy Center.

If you visit The BK Therapy Center, you'll find that not all is bad in Burger King Land.  According to that site, there are both pros and cons to working there:

The Good The Bad
· Make change at lightning speed

· Less expensive than going to a gym

· No worries about finding food for breaks

· You learn how to smile through anything

· Problem-solving, problem-solving, problem-solving

· Frozen Hershey pies ... mmm

· Improved pain tolerance

· Develop snappy comebacks to insults instantly

· Dress in the latest polyester fashions

· All the free soda you can drink

· Develop your creativity by thinking of funny names for your nametag

· Learn the melting point of various objects

· Earn money!

· Learn proper hand-washing techniques

· Make dinner for your family at home in under 3 minutes

· The Christmas bonus of a movie ticket

· Burns. Everywhere.

· Begin to loathe certain foods

· You actually don't want to be promoted

· Bathroom detail

· Hot summer day and you're on Broiler

· Cold winter night and you're on Drive Thru

· Degreaser or Empire

· Washing the glass doors every 5 minutes

· The playland. 'Nuff said.

· Running out of product

· Power outages

· Covering for people who call in sick

· Never enough change in the drawer

· Hours of training CD-I's

· Lobby Muzak

· No matter how many showers you take, the smell lingers

· Your RM's definition of "raise" is not yours

· The Christmas bonus of a movie ticket?!

Now after reading that, who wouldn't want to work there?  Especially after learning that it's a place that you don't want to be promoted.

Um, me.

Top 100 OK Songs Of The Past Twenty-five Years

VH1 has announced the "greatest songs from the past 25 years."   Just to go ahead and spoil the suspense, "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is number one.  Now while I wouldn't necessarily argue with that choice, I do have several bones to pick about songs 2-99.

As usual, whenever a list like this comes out, be it movies, albums, television shows, or whatever, there's always going to be room for disagreement.  But c'mon.  "Billie Jean" as the second greatest song of the past quarter century?  If I never hear that freak sing that song ever again, it'll still be too soon.  Yeah, no kidding Bille Jean isn't your lover.  She's older than twelve and the wrong gender.

And the words "Britney Spears" and "greatest songs" should never be in the same sentence together.  Same goes for Celine Dion, Backstreet Boys, Cyndi Lauper, Lenny Kravitz, Puff Daddy, and Hanson.  That is unless the sentence happens to be "_________ should be left off of any list of performers of the greatest songs because they are bound by the laws of physics, and are therefore incapable of ever producing something other than the greatest piece of crap of all time."

And I'm very disappointed that Radiohead only comes in at number eighty-four with "Creep," a song that the band itself is admittedly embarassed by.  A much better choice would have been "Fake Plastic Trees" or "Paranoid Android," and also much higher up on the chart than eighty-four.  Every freakin' critic has them as one of the most important bands of this generation, yet they get beat out by Bon Jovi?  By TLC?  By the Backside Boys?  Sheesh.  Who put together this list?  A bunch of bubblegumming teeny-boppers with horrible taste?

Here are some other lists you might disagree with:
