Play That Funky Music So I'm sitting around wondering about what's new in the world of the pan flute.  As strange as it may sound, I didn't know.  I'd lost touch.  That of course sent me into a panic.  If I didn't know who was the top dog pan flute player in the world, what else might I not know?  Could I rattle off the best selling lute album of last year?  Have I kept up-to-date on innovations in the bongo recording industry?  Did I realize that the master of the Jew's harp had passed away?  Do I know all the current techniques in playing spoons?  Sadly, the answer to all those questions was a quiet no, a slow shake of the head, and I'm not ashamed to admit it, a tear or two welling up in my eyes. But ignorant no more am I (whoa -- suddenly I'm channeling Yoda!).  And through my heartfelt dedication to musica obscura, neither are you.
