The Best Major

It's Masters Sunday and the best golf tournament of the year. Mike Weir, Utah resident, won the tournament in a one hole playoff. The day was filled with so many great memories.

Phil Mickelson sunk a long put on number 2 for an implausible birdie 4 after being stuck behind some trees in the left rough following his second shot. Jeff Maggert played some gutsy golf after giving back 7 strokes with triple and quadruple bogeys on holes three and twelve. Even with that he managed to finish in fifth place. Amazing.

And Tiger Woods blew up, shooting a 75 and never really being a threat to win. Don't get me wrong. Tiger is a great golfer. And it's not Tiger that I dislike. It's the press and the way they handle the whole Tiger thing. Seeing him struggle gave me some guilty pleasure.

Anyway, it was a great tournament and a good way to spend my afternoon. My daughter's wedding is over and I'm now ready to get on with other important things. But for now it's nice just to relax and enjoy a Major diversion.........
