Looks like it will fit...
Audrey Hepburn: Shall we start the pool now about whether this diminutive 2x2 ribby will accommodate my ever burgeoning grandma-sized glands? Or shall we just wait and see? This baby is one skinny minny.
After some deep soul searching--OK, it wasn't that deep, more like sheer laziness--I decided I didn't hate Hargreaves darts after all, so I pressed onward. All and all it's a rather quick, dull knit, a lovely travel companion once one traverses the shaping. The yarn is divine; I'd love to make a ChicKami out of it or copy Rachael and whip up that sexy cover number from this summer's Vogue Knitting. But there's Audrey to finish, more baby sweaters to knit--all girls, thank God--and a complicated, long-unfinished gift for my MIL.
Writing conferences vs. knitting conferences: Knitting conferences are better hands down! Since so few dream about prospering from their handicrafts, knitting conventions are all about the joy of work, the guilty pleasures of buying and trying unfamiliar yarns, and squealing like girlfriends at a pajama party over new techniques or clever pattern. Writing conferences, on the other hand, are a necessary evil, a professional duty, meeting and mingling for reasons of professional advancement. Though writers tend to be a generous lot, it feels so disingenuous this exchanging of business cards. Kinda makes me want to take a job.
March on Washington: Dying to read everybody's blogs about the march on our nation's capitol. The news reported phenomenal numbers. Way to go, Ladies!
