Palm Sunday Christian Tradition [posted by ZelderPK] Today marks the beginning of Holy Week for those who are Christians (well, except for Orthodox Christians) by remembering Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem. There is evidence that this rememberance began in the early Church as early as the 4th century. There is definite evidence that these ceromonies began in the 8th century. During the middle ages, Palm Sunday was very elaborate with long blessings being bestowed on the Palms. In the 1950s, the Catholic Church de-emphasized the Palms and focused on the reading of the Passion. I remember having palm leaves even at Cambridge Lutheran Church. The Chronicles of the Brewer 3: This site is very corn-fed, down right wholesome. The only thing that I can really say about it is that I predict that it will someday be called "The Chronicles of the Brewer 4." I also wonder if they strive for the perfection found in the Cambridge Chronicle? I have to tell you that I was very dissappointed with his April Fool's Day post. Dan, you can do better than that.
