The New Place This morning I went over to the terminal where I'll be based out of in Milwaukee, WI. It's not really a terminal. Well it is but it isn't. It's a company whose freight I'll be hauling on a regular basis (dedicated regional run). Their warehouse serves as a quasi-terminal for my company's trucks. I met the project manager as well as the staff and even one of the drivers. They all are a friendly bunch and I look forward to interacting with them.
Mr. C went over the specifics of the job, took me on a tour of the warehouse, and showed me how the trailers were loaded. Tomorrow I'll be going with one of the drivers on a shorter run down through the Chicago, IL area and back. That will give me a taste of how things will work before being assigned a truck. Next Monday I'll be on the road again!
Later at home, I started catching up on some of the things I haven't been able to attend to in weeks. So although I spent much of the day at home, it was most certainly not in "relaxation mode."
Well, since I'm getting up at 1:00 AM, it's time...yawn...to retire for the evening!
