Air Horn There was a light, beautiful snow falling this morning. The accumulation was scant so driving wasn't a problem. The snow stopped by the time I was unloaded at my first stop and the sun came out after my second stop.
The truck is becoming very dirty with all the snow/salt spray. So, I'm hoping I can get to a truck stop with a truck wash sometime tomorrow. (The company will pay for a basic tractor wash once a month)
The ride back home was uneventful. Another beautiful, sunny day. The nice thing about heading West in the morning and then heading East in the afternoon is that you avoid the sun's glare. That can be a bit much with snow cover--especially with no sun glasses!
I fueled up in Madison, WI and then arrived back in Milwaukee during rush hour (which wasn't too bad).
As I was taking my paperwork into the office, a blast from an air horn from one of the yard tractors backing up nearby startled me. I looked around and the driver of the cab was pointing in my direction. I looked around and saw that one my papers had fallen onto the ground. I waved my appreciation, picked it up, and continued on. That's certainly one way of alerting someone they dropped something of importance! I'm sure people within a 100-yards turned their heads with the driver blew the horn!
Tomorrow morning I've got a short load to Madison, WI. I'm hoping that they have something else for me after that. Otherwise it will be a very short day.
