Comment: Jennifer and I enjoyed the awards event and the delicious dinner
last night at the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn. It certainly was "ritzy".
News: I'm trying to avoid the media hype about the one-year anniversary of
9/11. The Onion has some really biting sarcasm on the TV frenzy:

Comment: I can't bear to watch any of the TV special reports on 9/11. It
brings back too many painful memories.
I think the best emotion that can come out of remembering 9/11 is not
sadness but rage, a rage that motives us to do anything we can to support
our leaders' efforts to wipe out the enemies who did this to us. I don't
think it matters whether or not Saddam was directly related to the 9/11
attacks. He would have been delighted to participate - and he'll nail us in
the future if he gets the opportunity. He's an enemy.
We can't rest easy until all the people of the Middle East are free of the
tyrants who oppress them and encourage hatred and war.
