News - NASA's Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope has taken stunning snapshots of the sun's solar flares. This photo shows how tiny the Earth is compared to the size of the flare: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/images/Sun_and_earth.jpg

Comment - The sun does not look that big up in the sky, does it? And our star is only average size. There are many "red giants" that are much, much bigger. But the nice thing about us having a boring, average star is that it is expected to stay this way for another 10 billion years or so.

News - A robot vacuum cleaner that the Wall Street Journal says really works: http://www.roombavac.com/

Comment - You set it to run while you are away from home. It will clean a carpet or bare floor in about an hour. Looks like it would work best if you used it every day, because it is not strong enough to vacuum up really heavy dirt.

News - Another little game to try: http://www.oidamedia.co.uk/interactive/cube.html

Comment - Remember Rubik's Cube? Here's a version you can play with online.
