Dad's condition remains unchanged. Still unresponsive, brain still swollen, still in a very deep coma. The longer he remains comatose and unresponsive, the worse it becomes. Evidently brains don't do well under these types of conditions.
Mei-Ling (my Dad's wife), although heartsick, is holding up well - she is pretty darn strong. She spends most of every day with Dad. But the ICU kicks out visitors at night so she actually gets a bit of a break. We've both reconciled ourselves to the probable outcome and so now are just trying to do what's best for Dad and what he'd want.
Mei-Ling commented that she thought it must be more difficult for me - the waiting from afar. Admittedly it's really tough and I'm beginning to develop a real anxiety associated with ringing telephones. However, Mei-Ling is the one who is really going the wringer. She's pretty amazing.
