St. Francis Bacchi Vineyard 1999 Old Vine Zinfandel Russian River Valley
Good stuff - one of the better Zins I've had recently. Really full, just the right amount of tannin and acid to balance the plum and blackberry fruits. Not overly sweet or overly tannic. And watch out - this puppy packs a whallop: 16% alcohol.
The wine went quite well with my home cooking - a very nice vegetarian lasagne - recipe from Epicurious.com.
