Yesterday, Peter, Henry II, and I zoomed down to Girdwood for sourdough pancakes at the Bake Shop. It was one of those perfect perfect Alaska Fall days. Painfully blue skies, 40 degrees, bright sun glinting off Turnagain Arm. A total stunner of a day.
The Bake Shop is an Alaska institution. I've been eating their humungous fabulous sweet rolls since 1974. There is nothing better in the whole world than taking your Alyeska downhill ski lunch at the Bake Shop.
As you can tell from the photo, they're also famous for their summer flowers.
The end of this summer's ferns.
