Today is the one year anniversary of the start of my two month stint as a nomad. At that point I was still living in my house on Government Hill. I had not yet started cohabitating with the Ski Boy. Here's the chain of events:

Jasper's fur was heavily matted --->Jasper was shaved ---> I had a severe asthma attack as result of exposed Jasper dander --->I evacuate my house --->move in with Peter ---> 10 days  later, still quite sick, Peter's pets, of which he had joint custody of, came home ---> evacuate Peter's house ---> move in with Susan Lagrande who is pet free ---> My birthday comes and goes ---> Halloween comes and goes --- Thanksgiving comes and goes ---> Finally well enough to move back home with Jasper and Clem in early December.

Peter, Alix, and I saw the Canadian Inuit movie "The Fast Runner" this evening. What an otherworldly sublime movie. It must be the single best Arctic Film ever made. The story and the acting are excellent. But what is really driven home is the harsh harsh harsh environment. The Arctic is gorgeous but absolutely unhospitable.

The most arresting scene was that of our hero running naked for miles across the ice and open water. This was no Hollywood sound set - this was the real thing.
