This great little graphic is from "Bug: The Strange Mutations of the World's Most Famous Car" by Phil Patton. I heard Terry Gross interview the author yesterday on "Fresh Air." I have to say that Henry II is appalled - Hitler commissioned the Bug and used concentration camp labor to build the car. ugh. I knew that but had deeply buried it.
However, in the 1990's, Volkswagen commissioned an 800 page report in order to establish a full accounting of what transpired during WW II. Volkswagen also established a fund to compensate slave laborer survivors. So that's a step in the right direction.
And now, here's why Hitler should have not been in Marketing - his idea for the car model name was the "Strength Through Joy Wagon." Gads that sounds like a name Mao would have come up with.

Guess what this harpsicord is made out of.
Hint: think small plastic bricks.
That's right - this puppy is a Lego masterpiece.
With the exception of the wire strings, this instrument is entirely constructed out of LEGO parts--the keyboard, jacks, jack rack, jack rail, plectra, soundboard, bridge, hitch pins, tuning pins, wrestplank, nut, case, legs, lid, lid stick, and music stand are all built out of interlocking ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) plastic bricks and related pieces.
And is playable.
