Alaska SatelliteAn amazing day on the weather front.  It just poured for most of the day. Henry needed water wings - those big fat racing Michelins do not like flooded streets.

Anyhoo, if you look at the map to the left, you can see those broad purple bands - those indicate lots of rain. I just grabbed a copy of the map at 8:00 PM Alaska Time, so you can see that the rain has moved NW out of Anchorage. At Noon, Anchorage was buried in purple.

The culprit in all of this is a huge 1000 mile storm off Southwestern Alaska. As my boss stated, if this storm was off of Florida, the entire Eastern Seaboard would be evacuated. Here, it's just another typical Bering Sea storm.
