I think this must be the balmiest October ever in Anchorage. It's been in the 40's and 50's all month. Our grass is still very green. I'm expecting to see palm trees sprout up any day now.

Just returned from seeing the Concert Assoication's presentation of The Australian Dance Theatre's "Bird Brain" with Cheri and her daughter, Katie. Bird Brain is a totally hot hot hot multi-media take on Swan Lake danced to pulsing techno music. And the dancing is absolutely outstanding - superb precision and technique all with a powerful energetic athleticism. A very hot evening indeed.
I just wish I knew the Swan Lake story - I've seen it just once and that was the amazing "Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake" on Broadway four years ago - which was definitely not your grandma's Swan Lake.

So, what's this off to the left? I bet you'd never guess that it is an Alaska Citrus (aka "orange") grown by the Ski Boy in his very own greenhouse. He has such a green thumb.
We have courageously tasted two Alaska Citruses (Citri?). A generous description would be "tart."

The Ski Boy scion is a hot ultimate frisbee player. The national club championships are being held, as I type, in Sarasota, Florida (coincidently enough, also home of the Ski Boy Maternal Unit). Seth's team is the "Sub Zeros." Last year they won nationals. But this year they seem to be having Boston Red Sox-type problems. But they did win their "do-or-die" game today against "Boss Hogg" to advance to tomorrow's championship round.
This sounds like it would have been just the sport for me - key skills are: the ability to creatively use the "f-word", sing goofy team songs, and wear funky team uniforms.
