It's great to see independent labels outside the US recognize the importance of Internet radio and do something positive about supporting it, rather than aping the giant record companies. What's the point of signing to an independent label if they just act like majors?
I may be reading too much into this, but it sounds like these European broadcasters realize that there's a huge opportunity to capture listeners in the US now that the record industry has killed internet radio originating in the US. There's nothing stopping American listeners from tuning in internet radio stations outside the US.
Providing compelling independent content is a vital step on the path to hastening the inevitable downfall of the Entertainment Oligopoly. Winning mindshare among artists is another (most artists aren't good businessmen).
