Read John Robb's entire post. Extending John's analysis, it's possible to blame the Entertainment Oligopoly for the pain the PC industry is feeling right now. P2P is an excellent example of the category of apps that (along with games) could have driven the Wintel upgrade cycle in the past year or two. The Entertainment Oligopoly has undoubtedly prevented ISVs from capitalizing on P2P opportunities (Big Broadband shares the blame, too). 3:58:21 PM
