Remus talks about PostgreSQL vs SAPDB - he thinks SAPDB rocks. Interesting, must try out - I wonder what the licensing is like. (Can I bundle it with my application?) We use PostgreSQL and hsqldb here mostly.

RC3 on Installing software with Ant. I agree with him that all Java developers should use Ant - it's brilliant.
I have Tomcat set up to automatically refresh WAR files when they change, so when I update some code, I just type ant redeploy and start testing.
Surely the irony here is that if you weren't using Tomcat, you wouldn't need Ant to do this (as Resin / Orion / WebLogic will automatically redeploy your WAR for you ;)). [rc3.org]
