InstaPundit has been offline all day – or at least I’ve been unable to get through. It just didn’t feel right to go without my daily dose, so I took the liberty of mocking up a little InstaSubstitute (now with one-third the bile!)

Ken Layne says something raw and tough and smart. Indeed.

Weapons of mass destruction? We don’t need no stinkin’ weapons of mass destruction. Axis of weasels. Heh. Anecdotal “proof” of joyous flower-throwing reception for US troops/Palestinian embrace of Roadmap for Peace/GOP daily talking points rephrased to sound smart. Indeed.

Read Lileks. Now. I’ll wait.

The BBC’s defense of Jayson Blair gets a good Fisking. Heh.

Link to smart article by self about nano-technology.

The InstaWife’s documentary about law professors who moonlight as musician/bloggers is out. See it.

SomeGuyYouveNeverHeardOf deserves a ton of traffic for posting this funny pretend-insult-that’s-really-a-suck-up-to-me.

Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing Stale Times-bashing. Irrelevant comparison to New York Post. Heh.

Link to cogent argument about some regulatory/legal/technology related something at MSNBC/Glenn Reynolds.com.

Link to comment about movie I haven’t seen.

Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism Shopworn Iraq Triumphalism. To coin a phrase, indeed.

Steve MacLaughlin is so worked up about mega-dollar deals for young sports stars that he’s broken his all-racing-all-the-time format to write an essay about tulips. But there is more to the LeBron James deal than too much money for an unproven kid. One reason Nike was willing to pony up $90 million for James was to keep him away from Reebok, which would have stuffed LeBron shoes into Foot Locker stores, with which Nike is feuding. James may fizzle as a player and/or a pitchman, but Nike has already gotten some value (not $90 million to be sure) by buzzproofing two rivals with one move.

Ars longa, vita brevis. Last year we built a junk-art sculpture on a trail near our house. It stood for a long time, then it fell apart. Today I found a picture of it I’d forgotten about on a French Google page of images named “Junky," along with several disturbing pictures of junkies, a junky car, and a cute Finnish dog.
