Finished with presents
Today marks my conclusion with this year's Christmas present purchases! Woooo Hoooo. The final 3 boxes purchased online, arrive by means of that "brown truck" (who was the bright CEO that thought that one up) and now all that is left is the wrapping. Ahhhh...the wrapping. This in itself is an "adventure". To find the paper with the most obscuring color and pattern is not that difficult. What I do have trouble with are the following: 1. Determining how much paper to use. I roll out the paper and place the item upside down. Easy enough. But then where do I cut? Too close to the item...ooops, I can just cover that with another piece later. Too far from the item...ooops, well they say extra paper lends to the weight. 2. How to fold those edges and corners? I tried that "triangle" type...but it usually bunches up. Then I try the plain square "wrap"...hmmmm, that looks good...NOT! 3. Bows...need I say more? 4. Tags...what do you write? I want something "original" not just "me to you"...well, duh! But they never give you enough space. Don't they realize that some of us are "bloggers" and we have a world of things to say!? 5.Tape...not generally a "friend". In the past I have actually reverted to "band-aids" not only to secure the paper, but to fix the inevitable "boo boos" that occur. In any event, perhaps next year I'll just use those "gift bags".
