Gardens

It has always amazed me that no matter what kind of day I have had, no matter what tempest has brewed...respite is just a few steps away in my garden. A place of calm and serenity. A place to enjoy the sights, sounds and fragrances. And a place where time is measured only by the arcing sun or traced by the shadows that stretch across it's breadth. There are countless diversions available if one only stops to "see". Not just the flowers, which in, and of,themselves are wonderful...but a whole community of animals and insects that call this place home.Watercan This is a place of wonder where you can let the days turmoil fade into nothingness by feeling the warmth of the brick or the coolness of the water as it splashes from rock to rock. Where the art of deception can be found within the bud of a flower. Where you can simply sit and swing watching the birds compete for the best place on the birdfeeders. Yes, this is a place where troubles, at least for the moment, can disappear as quickly as that hummingbird beats its wings.

Today's Quote:

It is good to be alone in a garden at dawn or dusk so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.-James Douglas
