Ending and Beginning
As we stand here at the end of 2002 and the start of 2003, I am reminded that we continuously face a cycle of endings and beginnings. This last year has been no less than typical in it's triumphs and tragedies. The moments of our lives, denoted by both fond and sad memories seem to linger in our minds. Was 2002 a "good year" or a "bad year"? But how subjective is a question such as this? What is "good" for one, may very well be "bad" for another. And are these two extremes yet a hairs breadth away from one another? Just as rows of seeds within a sunflower, the suitable may very well be next to the spoiled. So I look back at the times of my life in this year and savor the thoughts of those days. Relish the pleasant and learn from the disagreeable. For as we head into 2003, those days past will ripen to be sown again and again in a harvest of memories.
