Passages
Maybe it's just the time of year, you know, "auld lang syne", but today I am thinking about those people who have made "passages" through my life this last year. Some very interesting people, unanticipated at this time a year ago. And then there were some that I would rather NOT have "passed through",(although their numbers are thankfully, few). Things I learned from them I value each day and hopefully, I too was able to reciprocate something of value to them. Coming together like so many different seeds in a feeder, we shared, enjoyed and delighted in each other. Then there were a few, that appeared and so quickly departed, leaving me longing, (like the song) for just..."One More Day" with them. Now, scattered with the winds, will we find one another again? I have always believed that there must be some reason that a person comes into and goes out of, your life. Possibly it's a desire which needs to be fulfilled with you, or... sometimes within them. Maybe it was just for companionship, to share a laugh or commiserate in daily strife. Or...perhaps, fate merged your paths so that you could understand life more completely. Whatever the reason, fate, luck or chance...I am thankful for these people. Because each person we meet, somehow becomes a part of us. And we are the sum total of all the people we encounter.
Today's Quote:
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.-Anais Nin
