Smokin' Pot
Another wonderful Sunday and I took the time to seek out and purchase two great ginger jar pots which will be the home of some fragrant lavender plants. To be positioned on either side of the entrance to my gazebo, the glazed seashell motifs will add just right splash of color as summer approaches. The sunny, warm day further contributed to my desire to begin my annual potting ritual. In the hanging baskets, new begonias of red, white and orange where planted. In another, Peruvian daffodils will hopefully add their international flair when in bloom. Deep auburn and red calla lilies are hidden within two more matching pots and buried like treasure, yet another pot secrets away the Crimson Pirate daylilies. The day grew short and I only had time to soak the bed of daffodils and iris that are now in full bloom while continuing to partake of the scent of jasmine from the arbor on the wind. Tomorrow, I shall complete my potting and look forward to the day when Spring announces herself in an explosion of colors!
