Reflections Of Life
How often do we ponder our being upon others? Most likely you do quite often, even if merely on a subconscious level. If you disagree, then please explain the fact that we all long for attention to be bestowed upon us. We do it with our cars, our clothes, jewelry, occupations, our loves and passions. These symbols in our lives are actually just a reflection of who we are, or...perhaps, who we long to be. Even young children are not immune. You will hear them constantly crying out to onlookers, "watch me....watch me". It gives a person a sense of "importantance", a sense we all cherish. But to really know yourself, I believe that you must see yourself as a reflection in others eyes. How do they see you? What importance do you play in their lives? Do your actions assist them in being a better person? When another speaks of the "good" in this world, are you counted amonst those numerated? Perhaps the very best we can hope for in the lives we live, is to be remembered more than someone who possessed silly trinkets , but one who sets an example of fairness, love and kindness.
Today's Quote:
It is not so much the example of others we imitate as the reflection of ourselves in their eyes and the echo of ourselves in their words.-Eric Hoffer
