Denver employees received a reminder e-mail this week regarding participating in the elections coming up this spring. This is a good idea. The e-mail was pretty brief and lacked details on what types of actions are not legal under campaign law. For you City people reading this you can find the rules, on DenverGov, here. The link is to Rule 15, Code of Conduct.
Don't let this rule scare you away from the election. You can easily support the candidate(s) of your choice with a check, yard sign, envelope stuffing, etc., and not be in violation. Remember the next Mayor will be appointing a new Cabinet and their choices can profoundly effect your job if you work for an agency under the Mayor.
