2003 Denver Mayoral Election
Penfield Tate has officially joined the race to become Mayor of Denver. In addition, according to this story in the Denver Rocky Mountain News, Penfield Tate is going to resign his State Senate seat today, in order to concentrate on his bid to become the next Mayor. Here's the Denver Post story. I don't blame him it would have been hard to run a campaign and get the state out of it's financial situation.
Another story, from the Denver Post, about "push polling." From the article, "Kathy Dolan doesn't agree. Contacted by a pollster, she believed she was merely being asked routine election questions. And then the questions suddenly changed. 'I made them get a supervisor and told her that this isn't polling - it's spreading dirt about people,' she said. 'It seemed Zavaras was behind it because of the way they asked questions. If this is what he's doing with all his money . . . it's unethical and unconscionable.'"
