2003 Denver Mayoral Election
Dwight Henson is listed as a candidate for Mayor on DenverGov. He's the candidate that's homeless. I hope he gets on the ballot.

2003 Denver Election for Auditor
Dennis Gallagher writes, in a letter I received this week, "I am the only person running for Auditor who brings real auditing experience and qualifications to the job." He is planning to officially announce his candidacy for Auditor this Sunday, February 2, 2003, 3:30PM to 6:00PM, Uptown Tavern, 538 East 17th Avenue.
Where's your weblog Dennis?

2003 Denver Mayoral Election
Penfield Tate officially announced his run for Mayor on Tuesday. The Denver Post has a story this morning and the Denver Rocky Mountain News also covered the announcement.
Also in the Rocky this morning is this story about Ari Zavaras' campaign using "push polling." Push Polling is the practice where a survey prefaces a question regarding support for a candidate on the basis of an untrue statement and the survey is primarily for the purpose of suppressing or changing the voting position of the call recipient. From the Rocky, "The use of 'push polls' was criticized during last year's general election because critics said pollsters asked questions that planted voters' distortions of a candidate's record." Well I guess when you bring in the big boys and girls from DC you can expect the race to get ugly. Also from the Rocky, "Zavaras' campaign spokesman, Arnie Grossman, called the practice a 'standard component' of polling." Stay tuned, with all the candidates, and all the dough they are collecting, this election has great potential for entertainment. Don't forget though, we're electing a Mayor, Council, Auditor, etc.
