2003 Denver Mayoral Election
The Denver Rocky Mountain News is running a story this morning about John Hickenlooper's formal announcement as a candidate for Mayor of Denver. From the Rocky, "'I spent the last two decades building not only my own business, but those around me as well,' he said. 'Economic development is not a catch phrase I picked up on the campaign trail - it is what I do.'" Here's a link to coverage in the Denver Post.
Denver Post: "Some of the nation's top political consultants have signed on to help Denver's mayoral candidates polish their images and market their messages."
I'd really be interested in a candidate starting a weblog. With all this high-priced consulting handling the candidate's images and messages I don't think we'll see any weblogs. Come on, office seekers, are you afraid to write directly to the people?
