Apple Switch to Intel Processors?
News.com: "Apple Computer plans to announce Monday that it's scrapping its partnership with IBM and switching its computers to Intel's microprocessors, CNET News.com has learned. Apple has used IBM's PowerPC processors since 1994, but will begin a phased transition to Intel's chips, sources familiar with the situation said. Apple plans to move lower-end computers such as the Mac Mini to Intel chips in mid-2006 and higher-end models such as the Power Mac in mid-2007, sources said. The announcement is expected Monday at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco, at which Chief Executive Steve Jobs is giving the keynote speech. The conference would be an appropriate venue: Changing the chips would require programmers to rewrite their software to take full advantage of the new processor."

Romney for President?
Boston.com: "Romney ran for US Senate in 1994 pledging to keep abortion 'safe and legal in this country.' As a 2002 candidate for governor, Romney said he would not change the state's abortion laws. But in recent months, he has described himself as 'personally prolife' to out-of-town political audiences. And last month, he told USA Today that he is in a 'different place' on abortion than when he ran in 1994 against US Senator Edward M. Kennedy. A Romney spokeswoman said he had 'evolved over time,' but would not elaborate."

Paul Revere Traitor?
Opinions You Should Have: "Republicans today criticized Paul Revere for his famous ride, saying that he had violated professional colonial ethics by divulging military secrets in violation of his duty to his lord, the King of England. 'These were sensitive informations about military troop movements with which he had been entrusted,' said G. Gordon Liddy, an expert on ethics in government and a professor at several unaccredited law schools."

Justice Center
Here's an article about fundraising and other issues around the new justice center from the Rocky Mountain News [June 3, 2005, "Justice center blitz set record"]. From the article, "Backers of Denver's justice center raised a record $685,000 in campaign contributions to win voter support last month, according to post-election campaign finance reports filed Thursday. Justice center opponents raised $1,265 during their campaign and collected in-kind contributions worth $76,000...Since the election, justice center opponents have filed two complaints with the Denver Election Commission. Denver Voters for Responsible Spending, a coalition of civil rights and government watchdog groups, is seeking an investigation into the amount of city resources that may have been 'inappropriately' spent to persuade voters to approve the project. Opponents are also seeking an investigation into a separate campaign committee they say proponents formed to promote the jail, but failed to disclose."
