Consultants in Short Supply?
Political Wire: "As potential presidential candidates gear up their campaigns, Roll Call notes that "no fewer than five" political consulting firms 'have multiple candidates mulling over 2008 presidential runs.' Polling firms are in the same situation."

Political Wire: "Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's (R-TN) 'second trip to South Carolina in less than a month is a sign the Tennessee Republican is testing his political potency in a key state in the 2008 presidential primary,' the AP reports. When asked about his future after leaving the Senate next year, Frist said, 'I'm thinking about being a medical missionary, I'm thinking about returning to my cardiac-surgical practice and doing heart transplants where I have the opportunity to making people's lives better who are going to die of heart disease and I'm thinking of other ways of public service, including government.'"

Biden for President?
TalkLeft: "Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) said on CBS's Face the Nation today he intends to run for President...Joe Biden also brought us the Rave Act and has been a supporter of increased rights for law enforcement and wiretapping. (Sep 1996); Rated 60% by the ACLU, indicating a mixed civil rights voting record. (Dec 2002); Rated 36% by NARAL, indicating a mixed voting record on abortion. (Dec 2003).

Bull Moose: "The Moose fantasizes on a summer day. January, 2009 - In his inaugural address, President McCain today challenged Americans 'to enlist in causes greater than their self interest.' He decried the past period of 'petty, partisan polarization' and pledged to bring the country together with a new politics that puts 'patriotism before party.' Beauprez for Governor?
Colorado Attorney General John Suthers likes his appointed position so much he's going to run for election next time around, according to the Rocky Mountain News [June 20, 2005, "Appointed AG to seek elected term"]. From the article, "Suthers announced his candidacy Saturday at a Sunrise Republican Women's Club meeting. ' '06 is a huge year for us,' Suthers told the group at the Colorado Springs Police Department's Falcon substation. 'The Republicans have more people term-limited than the Democrats, so we've got our work cut out for us.' The former Colorado Springs district attorney and former U.S. attorney said the governor's race is key...He said his goals will include protecting Colorado's water rights, making the Internet safer for children and increasing securities fraud enforcement."

Here's a short article about Bob Beauprez's campaign from the Rocky Mountain News [June 20, 2005, "Beauprez gubernatorial bid in first gear"]. From the article, "Beauprez hasn't formally announced yet, but between now and when the balloons actually drop, there's plenty to do to rev up for the 2006 campaign."
