News: Astounding new pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys -- http://skyandtelescope.com/news/current/article_589_1.asp

Comment: A couple of the pics appear on the front page of today's Detroit Free Press, but go to the Sky and Telescope link above to see high resolution versions that are much more spectacular. I really like the galaxy pictures. They are transcendent, in the sense that they give you a vivid impression of the immensity of the universe. Almost as amazing is the fact that humans have the inexplicable ability to comprehend what's out there.

News: A list of the "best stuff" in the San Francisco Bay area -- http://bayarea.citysearch.com/best/results/28

Comment: I love lists and I love researching stuff to do in an area I plan to visit. This has lots of categories and a pdf file you can print. I'll have it in my pocket for our next trip out there at the end of May.

News: Another mapping alternative to MapQuest -- http://www.earthamaps.com/

Comment: Earthamaps seems really easy to use. What I really like is the option it gives you to search by area code and phone exchange.
