News: eBay is selling houses -- http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1106-918249.html
Comment: I'm impressed with the way that eBay has focused on finding as many
things as possible to sell via an Internet auction mechanism. Cars,
houses...what's next? Insurance? Plastic surgery? College educations? Of
course, those of you who have used eBay understand that you have to really
know your prices in order to get a bargain. You can actually pay more than
retail if you are not careful. On the other hand, if you are a seller, you
are delighted to have people over-bid the price of your product.
News: Very interesting transcript of an online chat with a futurist --
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/liveonline/02/business/business_celente
052202.htm
Comment: This guy is apparently a famous spotter-of-trends. Among his
predictions: continued slow economic growth, a completely new source of
energy this century, continued worldwide overproduction but lots of
cheap/high-quality manufactured products. Kind of a gloomy forecast,
overall; but interesting reading.
News -- Hurts so good? Article says "runners high" is an urban legend --
http://www.nytimes.com/2002/05/21/health/fitness/21RUN.html
Comment -- Well, now I don't feel guilty about feeling miserable when I run.
Mostly I feel the best when I stop running!
