Tonight's Wine: Cosentino 2000 Napa Valley Unfiltered Merlot. Very good. A little peppery, big, and smooth. Again - not a boring Merlot at all. Who knows, maybe folks are making bigger zippier merlots now. Still not my favorite reds - but they aren't as boring as they used to be.

This weekend, an indicator I'd never seen before lit up on the dash of my new Volkswagen Bettle, Henry II. The indicator was a profile of a little driver sitting in a little driver's seat with a big ball in their lap. After some thought, I decided there was either a problem with the airbag or that Henry II was telling me that I was pregnant. I looked up the indicator in the owner's manual. It was the airbag indicator. Whew. Not pregnant.
