Tomorrow morning, Mom and thirteen other members of her stock market class get to ring the New York Stock Exchange's opening bell!!!!

Joe Mauer - the Twins' (and Arctic Wool Sox's!) young hot catcher is going to see my knee doctor - Dr. Richard Steadman. In addition to being the Slat Rat's favorite knee surgeon, Dr. Steadman is the US Ski Team knee doctor - in fact he was recommended to me many years ago by one of my buddies on the Ski Team. Dr. Seadman is great - in addition to being a super doctor, he is very approachable, easy to talk to, listens well, and is not an egotistical head case.

Mt Spurr, a volcano that is a mere 80 miles west of Anchorage, is rumbling again. It last erupted twelve years ago. Anchorage was blanketed in ash.
And boy did that suck the big one.

I was working on project yesterday at work that required me to flag several Alaska villages on an Alaska map. I think Alaska place names totally rule. Here's a list of my favorites from yesterday:
