Death of an MP3 Player My trusty Creative Nomad Zen MP3 player up and died yesterday. Kersplatto. It gave out one last gasp while in the midst of transfering the Garden State soundtrack to my computer at work. sigh... It would cost me as much moohla to have it repaired as the cost of a new player. So a new MP3 player is in my future. I am torn between the new 40 G iPod and the brand new Zen Creative Touch. The new iPod is totally hot and is certainly gets all the press. But I really like the Zen MP3 players. They're extremely well designed and the sound quality is truly superb. So I think a weekend trip to CompUsa is in order - I'll do a "sound off" test between the two players and then make the big decision. 8:10:30 PM    comment []

Happy Red Sox Household In the summer, the Partnow Household pretty much revolves around the fortunes of the Boston Red Sox. The if the BoSox are doing well, the Ski Boy is one happy guy. And when the Ski Boy is happy, we're all happy. However, if the Red Sox are in a slump, well, the Ski Boy is descends into a deep dark funk and no one is happy. If you've been following the sports pages, you know that the Red Sox are on a heck of a winning streak. And well, the hated Yankees are not doing so hot. So, Partnow Household is a very happy place indeed. Peter and I totally chortled over this cartoon which was posted on ESPN yesterday morning after the previous evening's Yankee debacle in which they lost 22-0 to the Cleveland Indians. 7:52:21 PM    comment []
