Frost on the Pumpkin! O.K. You are not going to believe this, but our low temperature today was 33 degrees! Brrr... I let Clemmie outside this morning at 5:30 AM. It was dark but the skies were crystal clear - for the first time in over two weeks - we've had sooooo much smoke. Anyhoo, I noted that it was definitely chilly. But I had no idea it was 33 degrees! In honor of our frosty temperatures, Peter submits the following poem from his youth: When the weather is hot and sticky, it's no time for dippin' dickie. An Early Birthday Present! Today, the Ski Boy got me the coolest early birthday present - a 40 G iPod. As I mentioned on Thursday, my Creative Zen MP3 player died. The big decision was should I get the new Zen Touch or the new iPod 40 G MP3 Player. I was going to do a "listen off" this weekend between the iPod and the Zen Touch. But, the Zen Touch is not available in Anchorage, so the iPod won by default. And wow!!!!! The iPod is totally cool. It is soooooo well designed. And iTunes is hands down a fabulous piece of software. What a perfect interface. No one does it better than Apple! As I type, I'm transferring my entire MP3 library to the iPod at Firewire speeds - I did have to pick up a Firewire PCMCIA card this afternoon. My entire library of 1014 songs will probably only take about 30 minutes to transfer from Hewey to the iPod. Vroooooooom! 10:06:34 PM    comment []
