Wow - thirty minutes spent with Aunt Jane on the Photoshop front is thirty exceptionally well spent minutes.

I learned all about levels and that handy stamp tool. The stamp tool (not a very intuitive name) is great for getting rid of aberrations or unwanted objects like telephone poles.

Oh - and "stroke" a very very very easy way to create a border around a picture. Much easier than all the hoops I'd been jumping through!

I am soooooo pleased!

Here are two shots of the Bay Bridge from our hotel window:

This was taken last night with Peter's camera (mine is in the shop). Aunt Jane helped me photoshop the picture so that it least one can get some idea how fabulous it looks at night.

And here's the daytime view.

Man - since I've arrived in the Bay Area, its been tech city. I spent yesterday in Walnut Creek working on my cousin Lisa's various systems. I'm setting up wireless network, moving files off an old desktop onto a external hard drive, and doing some additional setup on Lisa's very spiffy brand new Dell laptop (courtesty of Aunt Jane!)

So far, we've only had to make two trips to CompUSA. Usually, I end up making five trips when I'm doing this sort of thing...

And then there's Dellbert, Peter's virally infected laptop. It appears as if Dellbert may have a new variant of the Sasser Worm. The old patches are not detecting any abnormalities. Sigh...But, Peter's help desk folks sent him a recent patch, so I'll give that a whirl this evening.

Ah - the life of techie Slat Rat....

We have the most incredible view from our hotel room at the Harbour Court in San Francisco. We're right on the water with a stunner view of the Bay Bridge, Yuerba Buena, and the East Bay. Just tremendous.

An added plus is our windows can be opened. I've been listening to the fog horn sounding all morning.

But the topper is watching flocks of pelicans coast by in a single line formation. I just love pelicans - they have so much personality!
