Race 3 of the America's Cup is history, and it's one more win for Alinghi. The Kiwis, while putting up a brave front, are looking frazzled and desperate, with a lot of yelling at mark roundings, and some clear gear handling muffs. Kiwi skipper Barker looks anxious to find a rock to crawl under. This could all be over by Friday evening (Pacific time, it'll be Saturday in New Zealand). Then the next big question will be which country will host the next AC--they're not going to race these boats on Lake Geneva.

Writing for a technical audience. If it has been a while since you've written a technical reference manual, Dev Shed offers a primer on how to approach this genre of documentation [Usable Help]
Clue to DevShed: there exist trained professionals who specialize in doing just what you describe. They know how to write technical reference manuals, and many other kinds of documents valued by users. They're called technical writers, and you might be surprised to find that one or more already work at your company. If not, you can actually hire them as contractors for a specific project, after which they magically go away! Try it sometime, you might find that your time is better spent programming instead of writing documentation.

"Look for the ridiculous in everything, and you will find it."
Jules Renard. [Quotes of the Day]
I find it helps to keep a little perspective. Used to call it "the absurd," but hey, "ridiculous" works too. Just a little too much of it from D.C. these days.
