Monday's musing

It's been a most unpleasant past few days, as I've spent the majority of it not feeling well.  I woke Sunday morning with a terrible stomach ache, and by late afternoon the pain was more than I could take.  Decided it might be best to go on to the Emergency Room around 7:00 PM last night.  The wait was long, and the attending physician was dreadful.  After hearing his initial diagnosis of a simple urinary tract infection, and having had only a urinalysis, I told them all to f* off, donned my sneakers while still dressed in that horendous blue and white snowflake-print hospital gown and threatened to walk out.   I was hurting so bad, I really didn't care what I was saying, or who heard me - I only wanted the pain to stop, and that jerk of a doctor wasn't taking me seriously.  The nurse managed to calm me down, and the doc  finally ordered a cat scan.  Lo and behold, three small sharp-edged kidney stones appeared.  Two on the left side, one on the right.  Yep, I was right - he was wrong, and I don't know if I felt better after having been validated or after they gave me a pain shot, but we made it home by 11:30 PM with orders for me to stay off work until at least Wednesday.  He said the stones were small enough they should pass with no complications and put me on some heavy-duty narcotics for pain along with antibiotics for a developing UTI.   I've spend most of today sleeping, with occasional twinges of pain and an all-over achiness head to toe.   To top it all off, the puppy chewed up my eyeglasses beyond repair over the weekend.  Arggghhhhh!!!!!!
