It's snowing!Just awoke from the most luxurious nap to find a silently falling snow drifting down from the heavens. The ground is nearly white, and the snow is clinging to treelimbs and rooftops making for an especially pretty scene outside my window. I had not heard the weather forecast for today, and had no idea snow was a possibility. What a beautiful suprise! 3:18:00 PM ![]()

Bizarre local police behaviorA disturbing story coming out of Murfreesboro, TN (just up the road from me) involving a city police commander's announcement that "non-Christian officers and those with more than 25 years on the force should look for other jobs." Evidently this all happened at the shift's roll call, and the commander made even more off-the-wall statements and further complicated matters by pulling his gun on a fellow officer. Some say he smelled "like a brewery", and although he was give a drug/alcohol test, the results have not been made public. He is now on paid administrative leave...which shows a lot more compassion than I would have shown him if it had been left up to me...12:28:44 PM ![]()

The Love CalculatorTouted as the "great invention of Dr. Love", this love calculator can calculate the probability on a successful relationship between two people. We scored 53% the first try, and the score dwindled to a meager 13% the more times I tried various spellings (ie. full, middle, last, maiden, etc.) Yikes!11:02:27 AM ![]()

States Still Trying to Stop SpamColorado and Missouri step up to the plate with "do not email" registries. A good idea in theory. I signed up with Tennessee's "do not call" list a few months ago, and can attest to the fact that it's actually working. The number of telemarketing calls we'd been getting at home has just about come to a total stop. It will be interesting to see if a similar program for spam can work, too. FULL STORY10:18:02 AM ![]()

Aussie women strip to protest warAbout 750 women took off their clothes and formed a heart shape around the words "No War" on an Australian hillside Saturday, in an attempt to send an anti-war message to the Australian government, police said. The nude women held their pose for an aerial photo shoot in northern New South Wales state, said a local police spokesman on condition of anonymity. FULL STORY Meanwhile, in New York, even a snowstorm couldn't stop these women from stripping in Central Park to protest the war. "Squealing and jumping up and down to stay warm, they ran stark naked into the park and lay head to toe over letters — “No Bush” — they had etched in the 3-inch snow." Indeed....at least the Aussies showed more creativity. But then again, the weather was in their favor. Girls, I've got news for you...this just isn't going to get you anything but a headline and a chill. 8:55:41 AM ![]()
