Quote of the day"What a strange thing is memory, and hope; one looks backward, the other forward; one is of today, the other of tomorrow. Memory is history recorded in our brain, memory is a painter, it paints pictures of the past and of the day." 4:58:07 PM ![]()

Do your own numerology readingBarbara has this numerology reading site posted in her weblog, and I found it very interesting. My life path number (destiny) is 3, and my birthday number is 17 which tells me I tend to be dramatic, especially with money lol. Yep, it's pretty darn accurate :) 4:48:16 PM ![]()

Tuesday's musingSleep....I don't believe I've ever slept so much in my life. The pain meds are keeping me drowsy, and my naps are filled with strange dreams. I don't know if any of the kidney stones have passed - if so, I haven't felt it. The cat scan results were sent to my regular doctor, and I received a call from them today telling me to make an appointment with a urologist. I can only hope the stones have passed without incident, instead of lying in wait to move and attack just at the point of complacency. Unless there's another painful episode overnight, I plan to return to work in the morning. I've so much I need to do this week that will take me away from the office - I don't know how I'll fit it all in. I desperately need to do something about my glasses. Thinking maybe they can be salvaged long enough until I can get my income tax refund so that I can pay for a new pair. Tomorrow at lunch I'll run down to the Eye Clinic and see what can be done. I stopped by H & R Block the other evening on the way home from work, hoping I could run in and get my return completed. There were at least 30 people sitting in the front lobby! I didn't bother going inside - I just did not have enough patience to wait that long, which means I still have to go back. Maybe tomorrow evening they won't be as covered up - or at the least maybe I can drop off my information and pick up the finished return the next day. Whatever...I just have to get it done this week. Looks like I may get a hefty refund this year, and I need the cash in a bad way right now. It rained like crazy here last night with a fierce wind howling. I imagined all manner of things being shaken loose and turned topsy-turvy. We noticed a small leak in the ceiling just above a light fixture here in the computer room just prior to going to bed, and Scott set the puppy's water dish underneath to catch the drip. No visible damage this morning to the ceiling, but it will have to be checked out soon. It all sounds so depressing when really it isn't at all. Things happen of which I have absolutely no control - this is just one of those times when it all happens at once. I tend to get overwhelmed by the least little things, so I keep reminding myself to deal with these things one at a time and not spin out of control. A month from now everything will look totally different, and in six months I'll probably not remember any of it :) 4:15:36 PM ![]()

Tainted blood70% of Middle Tennessee's blood supply has been quarrantined due to contamination. Blood shortages are not uncommon, and we have blood drives at the hospital where I work very regularly. The first time I gave blood, I fainted - fell flat on the floor. I was so embarrassed! Seems the CDC hasn't yet identified the "white particles" that are floating around in the donated blood, but for that much blood to be tainted, I'd have to believe it has something to do with the bags they are stored in. I haven't heard anything about our hospital having to cancel any surgeries, but I've been out of the loop for the past few days. I saw the first report a few days ago when the contamination was discovered in the Atlanta area, and saddened to see that our area has been affected to this degree. Very troubling... If you wish to donate blood, find a blood drive in your area by calling 1-800-GIVE-LIFE. 9:59:35 AM ![]()

Smart family announces new rewardThe family of Elizabeth Smart has released a sketch of a man they call Emanuel who worked as a handyman at their home a couple of years ago, and they have issued a new reward of $10,000 for anyone who can exonerate Richard Ricci. I followed this case from the very beginning, and I feel so bad for the family. I just can't imagine how that little girl could have just disappeared from the face of the earth...9:07:53 AM ![]()
