100 things about me

"A person should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful that God has implanted in the human soul." - Goethe

Quote of the day

"Among men and women, those in love do not always announce themselves with declarations and vows. But they are the ones who weep when you're gone. Who miss you every single night, especially when the sky is so deep and beautiful, and the ground so very cold."  ---Alice Hoffman

Stepmothers
My daughters have a stepmother.  Brenda.  She made chocolate fried pies for Becca's birthday.  Sent chocolate fried pies home with Becca to share with us.  Isn't that just the sweetest, most thoughtful thing for your ex-husband's wife to do??? God, they were heavenly...

Tuesday's musing

Home from work, feelin' fine as a froghair, and thinking about what a wonderful weekend Scott and I had.  It's nice to sit and linger over things like that...the laughs, the conversations, the movies, the dinner out...the closeness.  We celebrated Valentine's Day early, and I'm still wearing the smile.

Our snowfall was short-lived... melted and trickled down into the ground by midday yesterday, and the sun warmed us up to nearly 60 degrees today.  I wore the new beige cashmere sweater to work that I found on sale Saturday, and I've felt soft and snuggly all day.  It was an indulgence, I admit, but this will be the last year I'll get a nice tax refund - so what the heck!  I've worked hard and I deserve to be wrapped in something soft and luxurious...

Speaking of which, my daughter received a foot spa for her birthday.  Man o man, is that thing the ticket!  I don't know who was more excited, me or Becca.  It massages, soaks, jets and all manner of things to the heels, toes and arches.  Now, if we can just figure out how to keep the cats out of it...heh

We watched three movies over the weekend - only one I could recommend.  First we watched Wendigo (pass), then Eve's Bayou (a must), and finally Sweet Home Alabama (they tried too hard).  Still waiting to see the Bourne Identity - maybe we can get it one night this week...if I can stay awake long enough to watch it.  Don't know what it is, but I'm just dead tired at the end of the day anymore.  Bought vitamins with the refund money, too.  Hope they help - I've been on them for two days now.  Thinking I may be slightly anemic...

I've noticed a higher number of visitors today, and I thank you for stopping by.  If you see anything here you like, that makes me truly happy.  What is it about that song "I'm a Girl Watcher"?  Did I hear it on the radio sometime today?  I sure don't remember, but the damn thing's been playing in my head all day long.  My, my, my...

Two butterflies went out at Noon
Two butterflies went out at Noon—
And waltzed upon a Farm—
Then stepped straight through the Firmament
And rested, on a Beam—

And then—together bore away
Upon a shining Sea—
Though never yet, in any Port—
Their coming, mentioned—be—

If spoken by the distant Bird—
If met in Ether Sea
By Frigate, or by Merchantman—
No notice—was—to me—
