Memories Of Mother
Today is Mother's Day and since 1914 in the United States, a day when we officially celebrate and recognize our mother's and the many things that they have done for us. We honor these women for their nuturing nature, their love and sacrifice they bestow upon us, often with a disregard for their own wants and needs. Mother's are there when we skin our knees and nurse us back to health. They often act as mediators between opposing factions or referees of games and sibbling squabbles. Mom's are the fashion coordinators and decorators of our world. They cook and clean up after us without hesitation and say nothing. Usually they are the voice of reason possessing an uncany knowledge of all things that pertain to the heart. And with all of these duties that she takes on willingly, we often forget to thank her for all the help she freely offers. Mother's deserve much more than we can ever repay. Having a "special day" designated just for honoring mother's is a wonderful idea, but since she assists us in every way, all year long...perhaps we should think to honor her more than just one day a year! Happy Mother's Day to all you mothers, mothers-to-be and all those who HAVE mothers. And thank you so very much for all the unselfish and loving things you do for us all.
Today's Quote:
A mother’s life, you see, is one long succession of dramas, now soft and tender, now terrible. Not an hour but has its joys and fears.-Honoré De Balzac
