This Is Life?

I recently read an entry where someone had gone to considerable lengths to instill the fact that everything in their life was simply wonderful. Touting the "perfect" marriage, "perfect" children, "perfect" house and apparently, the "perfect" life. If that were true, I for one, would certainly love to meet such a person. The fact is...that NO life is totally "perfect". Sure there are many who have great marriages, children, homes and even lives, but "perfection" is an aspiration...not a destination.Bowl_Of_Cherries  Everyone has some sort of trial and tribulation that occurs at least every now and then. And there are those who may excel in one or more aspects but rarely would one be able to enjoy total bliss in every undertaking. How boring would that be, to know that the ultimate would always be achieved no matter what the effort? Contrary to popular belief, life is NOT simply a "bowl full of cherries" for even cherries contain pits. The best one can do is to strive toward that goal knowing that those "pits" exist and yet, continue the struggle. Perhaps cherries are indeed a wonderful analogy after all...while they are ever so sweet and a treat we long for, even cherries last only for a brief, "perfect" summer.

Today's Quote:

Perfection is a trifle dull. It is not the least of life’s ironies that this, which we all aim at, is better not quite achieved.-W. Somerset Maugham
