Red vs. Blue If you've got a high-speed connection (or plenty of patience), check out the first five episodes of Red vs. Blue.  Absolutely hilarious in its own geeky way.  As described on the site: In the time between the Covenant invasion of the outer planets (Halo) and the subsequent alien invasion of Earth (Halo 2), there was a brief period of civil war among the human marines. Places like Sidewinder, Derelict and Chiron TL34 were the sites of fierce battles where red and blue warriors fought for control of mankind's future. The Blood Gulch Chronicles tell the story of the men stationed in a desolate outpost as they fight for control of the universe's most strategic dry creek bed in the middle of a box canyon. And let me tell you, whoever controls that creek bed controls that canyon.  Which of course means they control, well, a canyon.  This is life and death stuff.  And when the capturing of flags is introduced, well, the control of red and blue flags is at stake.  This must be important if millions upon millions of Halo / Half-life / Quake / Unreal Tournament players say it is.  And if you're one of those players, downloading these episodes is a necessity. 10:05:25 PM     |

Let's Do The Time Warp Again This was "Time Warp" day on campus, where the spirited could wear something from another decade.  Being the spirited one I am, I chose the late 1990's era.  Personally, I think I pulled it off rather well. Here are a few pics I took today after one of my students reminded me that it would be a good idea if I grabbed by camera at lunch and came back to capture their "spirit" on flashcard.  Here it be captured (clicking on a pic will bring up a larger version if there is one): Lori, Claire, and Mayra bonding after lunch. The Sixties live with Elias and Diana. 5th period readies themselves for more film analysis.
